Eaton MTL5582 Resistance Isolator

MTL5582 RESISTANCE ISOLATOR to repeat RTD signals The MTL5582 connects to a 2-, 3-, or 4-wire resistance temperature device (RTD) or other resistance located in a hazardous area, isolates it and repeats the resistance to a monitoring system in the safe area. The module is intended typically (but not exclusively) for use with Pt100 3-wire RTDs. Switches enable selection of 2-, 3-, or 4-wire RTD connection. The MTL5582 should be considered as an alternative, nonconfigurable MTL5575, for use in RTD applications where a resistance input is preferred or needed instead of 4/20mA. The design is notable for its ease of use and repeatability. The number of wires which can be connected on the safe-area side of the unit is independent of the number of wires which can be connected on the hazardous-area side. MTL TP48 range Safeguards electronic process transmitters against induced surges and transients from field cabling The TP48 range of surge protection devices uniquely provide a level of protection for 2, 3 and 4 wire field-mounted transmitters that is far in excess of the optional transient protection facilities available from the transmitter manufacturers – without involving any additional wiring, conduit modifications or other expensive extras. The TP48 range protection network consists of high-power, solidstate electronics and a gas-filled discharge tube capable of diverting 20kA impulses. The whole unit is encased in a 316 stainless steel housing, threaded for the common conduit entries used on process transmitters. For three wire applications the specially designed SDRTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) and the SD32T3, (for separately powered 4-20mA loops) provide full 3-wire protection in a single compact unit. The recommended choice for the protection of 3-wire pressure transducers on low power circuits is the SD07R3. MTL4516/C – MTL5516C SWITCH/ PROXIMITY DETECTOR INTERFACE 2-channel, with line fault detection The MTLx516/C enable two safe-area loads to be controlled by a switch or proximity detector located in a hazardous-area. When selected, open or short circuit conditions in the field wiring are detected by the linefault-detect (LFD) facility and also indicated on the top of the module. Phase reversal for each channel is selected by a switch on the side of the module and output is provided by changeover relay contacts.
